  We went to The London today for lunch and it was so nice. This hotel takes you back in time. initially built in 1857 as a corner store on Darling St Balmain. In 1870 It became a hotel and has traded as such ever since. It was known as The Golden Eagle, The Circular Saw, The London Tavern and finally in 1883 The London Hotel. It has traded as a hotel without interruption since 1870. If the rich dark timber of the walls could talk they would tell you a yarn or two I'm sure. The service is good here. You can eat in the bar or the dining room. It's a relaxed warm atmosphere

  The restaurant is our favourite place to eat! The food never disappoints! Everything is absolutely delicious and whenever we order steaks the meat is ALWAYS cooked to perfection! We recommend this restaurant to our family and friends all the time. The staff are always so friendly and helpful with the menu. Amazing menu and amazing food! Definitely deserving of a five star rating. One recommendation is to make sure you book a table in advance as they are always very packed and it is quite a small restaurant. However, we have walked in and managed to get a table without a booking. Highly recommended! COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEF!

  The London Hotel is an iconic great old pub sitting proud in the street scape. Old world charm of yesteryear meets a modern locality. Enjoy great tap beer and have a meal in the charming rear dining room. Prices are fair and parking is plentiful! Enjoy a bevy outside under cover sitting on the bar stools and do a bit of good old people watching. Highly recommend a visit.

  Gorgeous sandstone building housing a traditional dark wood English-style pub, with a pretty good white table cloth restaurant in the back. Great wine list, very good food. Friendly, unpretentious service. It hits the midpoint for Balmain pubs between the old working class TAB dens and the hyper modern gourmet gastro-pubs.

  Food is great staff are better. Awsome place highly recommend. William is a legend and the young bloke behind the bar is to defanitly coming back.
