  Intimate, charming French bistro. Run by Alex and Natasha, who make you feel immediately "at home" as if at a private dinner without being anything less than the most professional hosts in town. Oysters so fresh they taste of the sea, with elegant Laguiole cutlery. Superb wine list, changing daily specials. I host a lunching club here once a month. Cannot recommend Tastevin more highly.

  Wonderfully welcoming French bistro; the owner remembers us each time we go and he and the staff are very friendly. Food is unmistakably French but is more creative than "traditional" French food. And they may have the best frites in Sydney.

  This little place is great. We sat in a confortable sofa in a beautiful room. The food was delicious, well cooked and the dessert are amazing! The staff are very friendly and attentive. Will be back.

  My boyfriend and I found ourselves in this part of Sydney unexpectedly and after a hard day's work. Quickly we were offered the French experience; we had with us heavy equipment and gear and were offered a secure space to store our things while we enjoyed a superb meal. We had the duck confit - a choice you should be sure to make. The meat fell off the bone. Expected but surprising as it was of a quality that we had both not experienced before. The ratatouille was devine and the rosemary lamb was just right. The closest station is Kings Cross. The parking may be a nightmare in this neck of the woods but it's worth a few rounds to find a piece of France in Sydney.

  A gorgeous little French bistro and wine bar tucked away in the busy end of Darlinghurst. The feel of the bistro itself is simple yet classy. 1920s art deco posters adorn the walls, white table linens are set against contrasting dark wooden chairs and comfy banquettes; the dinning space is softly lit by lamp shade chandeliers and tealight candles on the tables. At the back is a small bar, perfect place for a few pre-dinner drinks. Furnished with dark leather lounges and armchairs, the dim lighting in the bar gave a rather cosy and intimate feel to it. The bistro serves traditional French cuisine with a modern Australian twist that will delight your taste buds; and the excellent service simply completes a wonderful dinning experience.
