  Great for no frills pub food, animal free, but not really for me. Excited to go to a vegan pub and full marks for making pub food that your average bloke would happily eat. Just wishing there was a 1 healthy, less oily option, with vegetables. I had the lasagna like your mum made it, but my mum put veggies in her lasagna and I couldn't find a vegetable anywhere, and it was so greasy it was a bit sickening. When they asked me how I liked it and I replied politely that it was a bit too oily (it was actually very oily), they acted surprised and doubtful :/ I guess they're against animal cruelty and not caring about health. That's fine, just not for me sadly as I'd go regularly if they offered something healthy. I was tempted to get a burger but all fried and only crappy white buns available. Liked the vibe and the cut out areas upstairs and that it's not poshed up gentrified. But the options were a bit rugged when looking for somewhere to eat.

  Fantastic food in a classic Aussie pub. Green Lion never fails to impress with its full vegan menu featuring many pub classics such as nachos and schnitzels. The Green Mac is the superstar of the menu and you can order with loaded chilli fries. Prices are reasonable while the portions are generous. Its also fast, friendly service every time I have visited. Highly enjoyable!

  Surprisingly great bar and bistro. Walk towards Leichhardt on Darling St. from Victoria Road and its on your left. The upstairs has a balcony overlooking the road. In the evening dark its superb. Downstairs bar has a pool table and the lion. NB downstairs pub is THE RED LION. Upstairs bar and Vegetarian restaurant called THE GREEN LION.

  One of my favorite restaurants ever. Great service and awesome food. I die for the bacon cheeseburger and onion rings. Great environment as well.

  The best thing about this bar is that it was open late. In fact, that may have been the only thing. No, the stuffed lion, the free pool table and no queues at the bar were good too. The fact that the staff really seemed to not like customers takes the edge off it completely. Probably why there were no queues. If you want a beer in this part of town, play pool and chat to a lion, come here. For service and a pleasant experience, go somewhere.
