  I attended a 21st birthday at this venue and actually spoke to the new owner. Was very impressed with the service and the friendly way that nothing was too much trouble. They had closed the front bar for this function. They had a pool table and a video jukebox. The toilets were tidy and the venue made for a pleasant night out.

  We would like to thank Stephen and the staff at the Hermit Park Hotel for a fantastic function for our son's 21st birthday. We needed a venue at late notice on V8s weekend and the public bar at the Hermit Park Hotel was on offer. Although the new management had only been on deck for a short while, the team were very accommodating. Not being as organised as I should have been Stephen updated me with texts about special orders for drinks (especially for the birthday boy), ordered in helium for the balloons and ensured we had a screen for the embarrasing photo's. While there is no kitchen at the hotel, there is a space for food prep, heating and storage, we self catered and Stephen made sure we had everything we needed. Stephen also offered alternatives (roaving roast etc) to be set up in the back area, but we couldn't book anything because of the V8s. Our guests (mostly teenagers) thought the duke box and pool table were 'awesome' and there was plenty of space for them to have fun (we had 50 guests and could have fitted more). They were extra happy that the hotel was a cheap taxi ride to town. Stephen made sure we were all safe by providing a security guard, who was really relaxed and very cool. All in all we had a great night, from the preparation to the final curtain. Thanks Stephen and all of the staff, we'll be back (and so I believe will the next wave of 21st birthdays - they loved it that much).

  The HP tavern is the greatest in town as far as service goes there welcoming and always great you with a smile.

  Had a go at the pokes and should have stayed away from them $250 in hafe hour and l didn't get one free set of spins on three mershines and thorough that was really bad and not much entertainment for the money l didn't expect to win but it could have been more interesting and entertaining getting a bit old and run down could do with a face lift staff were good and friendly service good??!
