  Great location. Lovely quiet beaches and stunning views across to the mainland. Long Jetty to walk out on. Protected from the worst of the weather, as it's not on the ocean side. There's a patrolled swimming area with stinger netting too. Nice tavern with friendly staff, good food and cold drinks. You can sit at air-conditioned tables, or outside in the beer garden where there's a cool breeze and water views. Bus stops right out the front. There are a few other food options nearby, plus a large park if you bring your own. Appears to be some decent accommodation as well.

  Great location on Magnetic Island. Friendly staff and good service in this great pub. Burger With The Lot and side salad were great but the chicken schnitzel was only average. Nice atmosphere.

  A 25 min trip on Sealink from the breakwater terminal will get you to Magnetic Island. From the Nelly Bay terminal a ten minute bus ride will deliver you to Picnic bay hotel. This Hotel is 20 meters from the Picnic Bay foreshore at the western end id the bay. Facilities include a public bar, onsite bottle shop and restaurant. The bar is a favourite with locals and travellers as there is the nearby beach, jetty and children's playground. Bus routes service this location through the nearby carpark which also provides access to a boat ramp. The natural environment is never far away creating a relaxing atmosphere. The staff are friendly and the food is good quality. Public toilets are onsite to the rear of the bar. Weekends often see live bands performing in the pedestrian mall that fronts the business. The are is clean and well maintained with regular police patrols from the local station close by. This is a place enjoyed by old and young alike as the thre relaxed, friendly and safe environment sees people coming back time and time again. The location of the bay means that you will never feel crowded as there isn't as much traffic there. After a meal and a drink you can either stroll down the beach and jetty. A stinger enclosure on the beach allows for swimming in the summer months. Onsite accommodation is catered for at the hotel too.

  On Magnetic island this is the place to be if you like a casual atmosphere with casual dinning and good food complimented with great drinks by this amazing view back on the Townsville. Pinic bay hotel has everything to make you feel your on a tropical island and you are with all the amenities of the big smoke and when your done a 5 minute bus ride to the ferry terminal to bring you back to reality. so take a deep breath and learn to relax and soak up the atmosphere and enjoy.

  Casual place right at the jetty of picnic bay. Service staff is friendly and helpful. Food is good, nothing exciting though.
