  Fantastic clean room, excellent service, superb location. The bed was very comfortable - great mattress! And the shower was great. There were some lovely thoughtful touches such as putting the heater on in our room so it was nice and warm when we arrived. The building is respectfully maintained in its original style with some tasteful modern alterations. Fabulous! I'd give 10 stars if I could

  The room in this amazing hotel was good! The soothing sounds of the ocean put me right to sleep! As well as the complementary nightcap of port. The breakfast was served promptly at the designated time and when we left we we're all smiles.

  Enjoyed my stay at the Madsen. In a quite little town directly opposite the ocean. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Nice old building with character. Late check in ans early check out wasnt a problem.

  Brilliant stay in this boutique hotel. Excellent rooms, well appointed and not lacking in anything needed. The owner was extremely helpful with ideas on places to visit and eating establishments which were all excellent. Breakfasts were well prepared and presented. Highly recommend staying here.

  Our host Jim was attentive, the cooked breakfast was top notch standard. The position of the hotel looking out on to Bass Strait and in the centre of Penguin made the overnight stop enjoyable. The room was clean and well set up.
