Superb food and atmosphere and architecture of an old English pub with a open fire with cool antiques hanging from the ceiling beams. Great range of beers and spirits and of course coffee. Dinning is inside around the fireplace or along the side of the large bar with a large open room towards the back that leads out to a heated sunroom. Heaps a outdoor seating and tables along with a smoking zone all set in lovely landscaped grounds.

I went by myself and the waitress, after determining my palate in a brief discussion managed to present me with the perfect beverage- Pimms and lemonade (off tap!!) with strawberries, cucumber and mint. There might have been fresh lime in there too. It was divine. I sat in a booth and was gone again afterwards but the visit was very enjoyable.

If you're homesick for the UK or even missing a proper English pub, The George absolutely hits the spot. It's a great place for a drink and feed all year round, with covered outdoor areas for summer and a real open fireplace in the cooler Canberra months. Beers from classics to craft so bases are covered across the board. Excellent pub style menu with some real traditional gems if you have a good look.

I like this pub as it makes you feel at home. Very comfy and related atmosphere. Enjoyed the steak with pepper sauce. Will come back!

Cosy atmosphere, great music, friendly staff but not happy with the Tuesday night schnitty/steak inflation from $12-$15 for the same meal. Salad dressing is the probably the greatest dressing in Southern Hemisphere. Also need to update the booking system and answer the phone.
