  This is one of my FAVOURITE places. I love the relaxed atmosphere, either in the bar, or dining area. You need to be open minded and realise this is not your average dining experience. It's different for a reason which is why it's so popular. Staff can be friendly but really busy. I've always gotten a smile. Food great. Quite a bit to choose from. I suggest order several dishes each and share. The billowy curtains allow you a selection of private retreat. Neighbours can hear you so careful of confessions, makes for great ears dropping! I believe they have booths and tables but I love sitting on the floor cushions. Take your shoes off, but make SURE THEY DO NOT SMELL! ...... BUT (there it is again) it can get noisy on a Friday and Saturday night. Everyone is having a good time and it shows. lol. A quiet dinner for two during the week. A fun night of 4 on the weekend.

  It is one of our favourite restaurants for special occasions. Their curtains provide a lovely cosy & seemingly private feel. We only go during the week, so it is not crazy busy. Often recommend it as a great place for a romantic date to friends. Great food for a decent price, for a classy meal.

  Absolutely awesome food! Waitresses are friendly, service was fantastic. Everything about the place is so different, but just so cool. Thoroughly enjoyed it. :)

  Garuva has a constant stream of people trying to eat here, and I'm mystified why. The only thing I can think of is the "Cuteness" of the place. All the tables are floor-based, and tables are surrounded by gauzy cloth. The lights are low and the dishes are all "Too share". A constant stream of uni students is their main income, because I suspect that after two or three visits people don't come back. And if they do they're stupid. Garuva is frankly *terrible*. It starts with the service. You'll be shown to your table, then asked almost immediately what you want to order. If you're foolish enough to ask for some time to read the menu in the poor light, you'll not see your waitress for at least 15 minutes. This is the shortest you'll wait all night. Don't move the tables. Even if you explicitly booked for 14, were told it's not a problem to seat you together and are then sitting at one table for 12, next to a walkway with a curtain, next to a table for the other 2. Moving the tables will get you snapped at because "something something set up for next seating something something fire rules". Asking why they told you you could have 14 when you can clearly only have 12 will get you glared at and told you have 14 sitting together. Ahem. The food will eventually arrive. It will taste like the flavors came from a jar of sauce, and everything will have been overcooked for at least 20 minutes. You will not be asked if you want another drink, nor will you ever see your waitress again. Worry not, thought, you'll never hear again either. The charm of sitting on threadbare cushions besides diaphanous curtains as though in the tent of a particularly shabby sheik will soon pale besides the total inability to hear anyone else over everyone else. Tranquility refers only to the speed at which you're seated and served. Everything else is cramped, crowded, badly done and unpleasant.

  I am sorry to say that we will not be returning to Garuvers Restaurant. We arrived at 8.15pm for an 8.30pm booking Our table was not ready so we were told to go to the bar area to have a drink while we waited. Many guests arrived after us and as we were there earlier than them, we thought we would not have long to wait, This was not the case, our booking got overlooked and we did not eat until 11pm. Althought the ambience of the restaurant is nice, the service was not good We will not be returning to the Restaurant.
