Exhibiting for SALA 2020, 100 Barossa Artists is the powerful culmination and curation of 100 self-portraits of visual artists from the Barossa Region.
Art is an expression of who we are and who we hope to be. The100 Barossa Artists project marks this moment in time 2020. It captures the history, importance, and emergence of creativity and artists in our community.
100 Barossa Artists gives all artists an opportunity to be recognised, to show that they count within our community, that their art practice is crucial to who they are, and who we are as a society.
COVID has encouraged the expansion of the original exhibition in the Gallery during the day. Not only will over 100 Barossa Artists be exhibited, but they will also be joined in the Gallery by 300 Future Barossa Artists from the region's ELCs and Kindys. The 100 Barossa Artists works will be projected at the Barossa Regional Gallery at Night for August, and 10 local digital artists will partner with Tanunda organisations to form a projection trail in the Tanunda main street.
